Programs & Services
RESIDENTIAL SUPPORTS
We offer a choice of residential placements of 4-6 bed Group Home environments in community neighbourhoods. Both long term and short term (relief/emergency) supports are available. A holistic, needs based approach is used, in concert with families, to develop an ‘Individual Life Plan’ that describes supports to be delivered. A brief profile of the typical residential client and the residential settings are presented below:
OUR TYPICAL RESIDENT
is severely/profoundly mentally challenged;
is between 2 to 66 years of age;
has a significant physical handicap, e.g., hemiplegia, quadriplegia, neural tube closure deficits, microcephaly, genetic deformities, cerebral palsy;
has an associated medical/health condition, e.g., epilepsy, diabetes, nutritional intolerances;
has no intelligible oral communication;
has no independent mobility but seated in wheelchairs with customized inserts;
requires total care for feeding (orally or g-tube), dressing, bathing, etc.;
has primary day activity focused on activation, sensory stimulation, leisure and therapeutics, provided on site but limited in the external community.

THE APARTMENT AT KINGSWAY
a self contained apartment within our facility building, the “Apartment” is the home of our weekend parental relief program.
with a variable staff to resident ratio, the program is able to serve medically fragile and technologically dependent children and young adults, as well as the less fragile multi challenged individuals.
